Pierce County and the City of Puyallup are seeking public comments on several projects that will impact local residents. The City of Puyallup is reviewing a remediation project at 615 and 621 14th St SE, where 687 cubic yards of petroleum-contaminated soil will be excavated and replaced with clean fill. Pierce County is reviewing a proposal to add a training tower to East Pierce Fire & Rescue Station 116 and to expand the South Hill MultiCare emergency medical facility at 13106 Meridian E. The public has until October 5 to submit comments on these projects.
The South Hill MultiCare facility, located on a 1.80-acre parcel, seeks to redevelop 5,990 square feet of existing space. The fire station project involves adding a training facility onto an adjacent parcel. The remediation project at 14th Street SE aims to address soil contamination from previous petroleum use. These projects will be reviewed by Pierce County and the City of Puyallup before any final decisions are made.
Residents can submit comments online or in person until October 5. The City of Puyallup's remediation project will require excavation and backfilling, while the fire station and medical facility projects will involve construction work. The public will have the opportunity to provide input before these projects move forward.
