Puyallup Residents Await Environmental Review for Local Projects

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Pierce County is reviewing two projects with direct impacts on Puyallup residents.

The first project involves Thompson Morrison’s proposal to build a 50-foot T-shaped floating dock on Lake Josephine, extending 34 feet into the lake. The project, filed June 29, 2026, is under environmental review with public comments due July 13.

The second project is a residential development by GCH Puget Sound, Inc. on a 2.69-acre parcel. The proposal includes clearing 1.02 acres for a single-family home, shop, and septic system. Approximately 55,070 board feet of timber will be harvested. Public comments on this project are open until July 10.

Both projects require environmental review under the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) before final approval. Pierce County will consider public feedback before making a decision.
