Puyallup Plans Water Infrastructure Upgrade on 15th Ave SW

The City of Puyallup has proposed replacing aging water infrastructure at its Maplewood Springs facility, according to a state environmental review filing issued April 8, 2026. The project covers properties along 15th Avenue SW between addresses 1600 and 1708 and includes replacing multiple water distribution pipelines and the existing Zone 2 Pump Station.

According to the SEPA filing, the work will replace the supply pipeline to the Zone 1 Pump Station, the Maplewood Springs Reservoir inlet and outlet pipelines, and the reservoir drain pipeline. The project also includes relocating overhead power and communications lines. The applicant listed on the filing is Jessica Wilson. The city assigned the project Capital Improvement Program number CIP 24-003.

A second Puyallup project also received environmental review clearance the same week. A proposed off-street parking lot at 2401 Inter Ave received a Mitigated Determination of Non-Significance from the city on April 15. The project, filed by applicant Jason Sea under the name EJ Poultry - Red Dot, would add 62 vehicle stalls and semitruck parking to serve Red Dot Corporation, located directly north of the site. No new buildings are planned. The project includes paving, striping, landscaping, lighting, and stormwater improvements.

Residents may submit public comments on the Maplewood Springs water project through May 8, 2026, via the Washington State Department of Ecology's SEPA portal.
