Pierce County property owners have until April 30, 2026, to pay the first half or full amount of their property taxes. The deadline applies to all property owners who pay taxes directly β not those who pay through a mortgage lender, whose payments are handled automatically.
Pierce County Assessor-Treasurer Marty Campbell urged residents not to wait. "We encourage taxpayers to get their taxes in well before April 30 to be sure payments are processed by the deadline," Campbell said.
Residents have several payment options. Payments can be made online at the Pierce County Assessor-Treasurer's website using a debit card, credit card, or e-check. Payments by phone are accepted at 253-798-3333 with a parcel number ready. Checks mailed to the county must be postmarked by April 30 β the U. S. Postal Service recommends mailing at least seven days early.
In-person payments are accepted at the Pierce County Annex, 2401 S. 35th Street, Room 142, Tacoma, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Drop boxes are available outside and inside the building, though foreclosure payments must be handed directly to staff. The Pierce County Finance Office at 1501 Market St., Suite 120, Tacoma is also open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
