Fire District Survey Closed, Training Continues

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

Central Pierce Fire & Rescue announced the closure of a community survey on the future identity of the merged fire district. Over 1,000 residents, employees, and community partners provided input. The survey responses will be reviewed and analyzed before being presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners on September 28.

The district also confirmed ongoing Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) training for crews from July through October. This training prepares firefighters and paramedics for large-scale emergencies. Additionally, two Australian firefighters from New South Wales Rural Fire Service recently visited Station 72 after supporting the Little Giant Fire in the U. S.

The next key date is September 28, when survey findings will inform the Board’s discussions. Residents can expect updates on the fire district’s identity after that meeting. The district also reminded drivers to slow down in school zones as children return to classes.
