City Plans Water System Upgrades at Maplewood Springs Facility

The City of Puyallup has proposed replacing key water infrastructure at its Maplewood Springs facility on 15th Avenue SW. The project, filed under state environmental review on April 8, covers a stretch of property between 1600 and 1708 15th Ave SW.

The work includes replacing existing water distribution pipelines and the Zone 2 Pump Station. Additional pipeline replacements involve the supply line to the Zone 1 Pump Station, the Maplewood Springs Reservoir inlet and outlet pipelines, and the reservoir drain pipeline. The project also includes relocating overhead power and communications lines.

The filing is listed as Capital Improvement Project 24-003 and was submitted by applicant Jessica Wilson. The City of Puyallup is the lead agency for the environmental review. Residents who want to comment on the project have until May 8, 2026 to do so through the Washington State Department of Ecology's SEPA process.
