City Approves Parking Lot Plan Near Inter Avenue

Puyallup city officials have issued an environmental determination for a new off-street parking lot at 2401 Inter Ave. The project, filed under applicant Jason Sea, will add 62 parking stalls along with designated semitruck parking to the site. No new buildings are planned.

Approximately half of the stalls will serve Red Dot Corporation, which operates directly north of the project site. Construction work will include paving, striping, landscaping, lighting, and stormwater infrastructure improvements.

The city issued a Mitigated Determination of Non-Significance (MDNS) on April 15, 2026, meaning environmental review found no significant adverse impacts after conditions were applied. The filing is associated with civil application PRCCP20250176.

Separately, the city also issued an environmental determination for a water system upgrade at 1600–1708 15th Ave SW. That project, known as the Maplewood Springs Zone 2 Pump Station and Water Main Replacement, involves replacing aging water distribution pipelines and the existing pump station at the city's Maplewood Springs facility. Public comments on that project are due by May 8, 2026.
